Singer-songwriter Mikaela Astel takes you on a dreamy melodic emotional experience, with her tones and sounds ranging from strong and rich to sweet and angelic. As an artist, her passion is to create a connection with the listener, by expressing feelings we hide from or can’t explain within her lyrics and music. She is influenced by the unique sounds of the 1950s/60s and artists such as Lana Del Rey, Still Woozy, Christina Perri, and Lorde.

Mikaela has been singing and songwriting since she first picked up a guitar and began learning piano at 7 years old. When she was just 14, she captured the attention of John Legend and Kelly Clarkson with her performance on NBC’s The Voice. Her acoustic release of her audition song, Electric Love by Born,gained over 2 million streams. At 16, she was selected to be one the four Good Newz Girls, a girl group formed by Jay Brown and TyTy Smith Productions in collaboration with Nickelodeon. Her time there spent in recording studios with top producers, appearances on Nickelodeon, filming music videos and performing on stages such as the Kids Choice Awards.

In 2023, her passion for songwriting led her to begin her journey as an independent solo artist with her current debut summer release “Taste”.
